TOP MESSAGE

In March 2022, we celebrated a major milestone – the 50th anniversary of our foundation as a shipping company owning and chartering out ocean going vessels.
Looking back on the history of our business activities over the past decade or so, we were able to adapt efficiently after the collapse of the shipping bubble caused by the Lehman Crisis in 2008. We have reformed our fleet strategy, redesigned our corporate governance, and restrengthened our financial fundamentals in the rapidly changing global shipping markets. We are confident that we were able, and remain able, to proactively challenge these three core management issues and have transformed into a sustainable and global shipping entity, including our Group companies in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.

The current business circumstances surrounding our Group are turbulent as always.
The shipping market is highly volatile due to changes in the global economy, rising geopolitical risks, marine and global environmental issues, and countermeasures taken against infectious diseases. In these uncertain business times, our Group will again aim for safer and more efficient navigation, we will further optimize our fleet portfolio, and reduce GHG emissions. As a part of this transition, we were one of the first Owners to commit to LPG dual fuel vessels and we continue to take on strategic projects to build a new business model for the next generation.

Founded upon our company’s basic philosophy of “Co-existence with society,” we have so far carried out various CSR activities around the world.
As a member of the international community, we will continue to do our best to respect international cultures and values and will actively contribute to social activities focused on global marine environmental conservation.

We foresee that the shipping industry will continue to be at the mercy of unknown global economic and political conditions. However, regardless of any circumstances, and despite our small workforce, we aim to sustainably improve our Corporate Values as a global shipping company. We wish to consistently maintain the trust of all our Stakeholders including cargo owners, charterers, and shareholders by responding flexibly and strategically to all situations and not only sustain but also develop new Corporate Values for the future of the Kumiai Senpaku Group.
